Chelsea confirm the replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga

Chelsea Football Club announced a new goalkeeper, Djordje Petrovic from the MLS, New England Revolution.

The Serbian International was signed as a perfect replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga who recently joined Real Madrid on a season loan deal. He expressed his delight on the club’s website, according to him the move is a dream come through.

“I am so happy to be at Chelsea and I’m really excited to get started at this club. It is a big step for me and it’s always been a dream of mine to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Today I have achieved that goal and I’m so happy. Playing in the Premier League is something I’m really looking forward to doing and I hope to learn many things here at Chelsea. I can’t wait to meet everyone and play at Stamford Bridge”.

The 23-year-old signed a seven-year deal which will keep him at the club until 2030 with an option of an extra year. Chelsea paid £12.5million for the goalkeeper plus £1.5million in add-ons for the shot-stopper.

Djordje Petrovic was impressive for New England Revolution in the MLS which saw him take over the first-team shirt at the club.
